1. Installing Java

EQ Map Viewer requires a Java 1.4 compliant runtime machine in order to execute. If you already have a Java 1.4 runtime environment installed, you can skip this step. The latest version of java can be downloaded from Sun's Javasoft Website

2. Downloading EQ Map Viewer

EQ Map Viewer is currently distributed as an executable .jar file. You can obtain the latest version from our project file list.

Latest version: eqmaps_0.5.jar (Released 23 March '03)

Older versions:
eqmaps_0.4.1.jar
eqmaps_0.4.jar
eqmaps_0.3.jar
eqmaps_0.2.jar
eqmaps_0.1.jar

Please note that it is not necessary to to unzip or unjar the file. For most Windows operating systems, simply double clicking on the the .jar file should start the program.

Alternatively you can run the program from the command line using the command:

java -jar eqmaps-0.5.jar

 

Experimental: Java WebStart (Experts only!)

WebStart is a relatively new piece of Java technology that allows installing of applications via the web using the WebStart engine. If you have Java WebStart 1.2 installed, you can try installing and running EQ Map Viewer by clicking on this link: WebStart EQ Map Viewer (v0.5)
